Why are sky high platform heels so popular now and just who is wearing them?

Isn't she the one who was married and had an affair with a married man? Not a good example. She's home wrecker.

I think LeAnn Rhimes actually looks pretty cute in the above photo... ZOMG AM I GOING TO TURN INTO A HOMEWRECKER WHORE NOW???! Help me DCUMs, save me from my own tackiness!!

Some of them are ok, but not for DC. I just don't think you can wear them here. Its too conservative. Maybe LA or NYC at night.

I have a pair of wedges similar to LeAnn, but I draw the line at the super platform heels. I like to consider myself sophisticated and fashionable (imo), but I would look ridiculous in them. I guess if you can pull it off...good for you.

This makes no sense. They look good in Houston, Des Moines, Atlanta, Portland, Greensboro...trendy people and frumpy people are everywhere. That's like saying some moms don't pluck their eyebrows at DD's so I wont because I'll stand out.

I bet if a few of them tried them on, it would be hard to go back. They're about as comfy as a heel can get!

+1, and 1789 is definitely not a cool restaurant.

I read recently where Manolo Blahnik (sp?) said he never wanted to go for the platform look. NYT maybe?

The classics endure.
