Just got back from a Westin and they had Africa Kitamu in the rooms. I gave the maid a nice tip and asked if I could take a few Kitamu's home and she gladly said OK.

I stumbled across this site and just wanted to let you all know that Africa Kitamu is coming back to Starbucks. In fact, it is already in some locations. You talked, they listened!

I have to say, I love these kinds of posts, nothing mean or judgmental as far as I can tell, totally idiosyncratic and nutty and fun. I hope you get your coffee, even if it took a year or so.

Awww thanks. OP here. You understand me. That is rare.

So my local grocery store has turned into quite the tease and it's wearing me down people. They have a sign up advertising African Kitamu and the shelf is empty. I got a lump in my throat and tried to wipe away the tear that escaped my eye. Determined, I began searching through all the other Starbucks bags hoping to find my beloved Crack-amu/Kitamu hiding. No luck. I have asked the manager when it's coming and at first I got a "African what?" I mean really. She walked me over to their in store Starbucks and tried to convince me their Kenyans coffee and/or Ethiopian coffee were Africa Kitamu. It's not going to be sold at actual Starbucks lady, just in a few select grocery stores. Even I know this.

I called Starbucks customer service and some prick gave me attitude. He basically told me to suck it up. I complained that a virtual black market has spouted up on the net were the lucky few are selling Kitamu at outrageous prices. He didn't give a shit. I asked to speak with a manger and he told me he was a manager. Figures.

So I called again today and got a nice and respectful woman who had never even heard of Africa Kitamu, but I forgive her because this angel was determined to help me. She went above and beyond trying to help me researching and talking to various people. Guess what? Nobody, not even the big wigs in Seattle, can tell me when this liquid crack is being released.

Anyone know how long the "limited time" offer lasts?

Nice to find that I am not alone in my pining for Kitamu (I prefer it french-pressed). Enjoyed the heck out of it in Beijing through 2008 before it was discontinued by Starbucks. Rediscovered it in late-2013 Portland before it disappeared from Safeway shelves. Your movement worked! . . . at least temporarily. Time for a rebirth!

Time for another revival of African Kitamu Starbucks! I bought a huge supply when they did a brief limited edition comeback and that supply is depleted. Anyone else want to join the movement?

Bring back Kitamu!!

PP above. I found bucatini in Hoboken NJ, the same weekend it was posted. I think I let everyone know in the thread.
