Would you have done the same as I did-confronting gross parent at amusement park

reminds me of the asshole who confronted me in front of my family after my dog had diahrrea (sp??) out on some public space. there was no possible way to pick up the dog poo, as it was in 100% liquid form and had already dissolved into nature. Guy was right in my face, unbelievable. He is very very lucky that I didn't kick his ass.

gross! What was the guy thinking?

You should have accidentally brushed up against him, pushing him into the spot of crap!

no common sense

It had one of those giant play areas for kids--you know where there are a lot of nets to climb and long slides and such. There was a long wall and many of the parents were sitting on the wall, watching the kids play. So I was sitting there and my Dh comes up and talks to me for a minute while the kids were playing, and then he says "Ew, is that a used diaper?" I look to my left and about 3 feet from me, on the wall is a used folded up diaper. No one is really near it but a stroller is parked in front of it.

So maybe 5 minutes later a man comes up and is with the stroller parked in front of the diaper. He just stands there a couple minutes so finally I asked him if it was his.

He told me yes, then said "Do you have a problem with that?"

Me: Yes, that is really gross

Him: Well, do you see a trash can around here?

Me: If you can't find a trash can, you can put in a plastic bag and put in back in your diaper bag or stroller until you find one.

Him: Why don't you just worry about things that actually relate to you?

So I found the nearest employee and told them about the problem. As I am doing this, he starts calling over to his wife and kids to try and get them out of there (still leaving the diaper on the wall). The employee came over and told the many to throw away the diaper (there was a trash can about 15 fee from where the diaper had been sitting on the wall. I have no doubt that he was planning on just leaving the diaper there, if the employee hadn't said something.

Anyway, Am I unreasonable for thinking it's gross to just leave a dirty diaper sitting out like that while you go off to play with your kids (remember, when we first saw the diaper, he wasn't there, he had just left it sitting there for at least several minutes while he was somewhere else)? Would you have said something to the guy?

Good for you! I once saw a woman change a dirty diaper in a grocery cart and leave diaper in cart and I also saw one who tried to change one in a booth seat but manager came by and told her to use the changing table in ladies room. People are so gross. Again, Good for you.

Ask anyone who cleans port-o-pottys or septic tanks if they wear protective gear to the job. It is disgusting and cheers to you for having the balls to say something!

Was my big coil dump that I took in the woods while camping toxic? It's at Elizabeth's Furnace campground if you want to go pick it up. You can probably also pick up some toxic dog sh*t behind my building in McLean.

You are a dumb neurotic bitch. If you were in the DC area, you are lucky nobody took a swing at you - I would be very cautious about confronting peole around here - no half-steppin' in DC.

Your situation and the op's are different. There was no way you could pick up after your dog and any reasonable person should have known that. But the dad in op's scenerio could easily pick up the diaper and throw it away. He just didn't want to. If your dog had a normal bowel movement, you would have scooped, right?

He didn't leave it there permanently, unless you think he also intended to abandon the stroller forever. He left it there temporarily and came back to it. You just ASSUMED he was going to leave it again, and this time forever.

I also cannot believe you felt the need to post about it, let alone while you are still on vacation.

I might have said something (or not) but I would have been more passive aggressive about it and acted like I was commiserating with him about how hard it is to find a trash can and then offered a plastic bag so he could put it in his stroller until he could find a trash can.

Passive agressive or not, I think that's a civilized way of handling the situation.

I btw have a 46 year old friend who needs an adult diaper and no he can not find the trash can himself.

Gross. Sorry for your friend and all, that would definitely suck. If your friend can pack extra adult diapers for his on-the-go needs, he can pack extra plastic bags with him and cart out his own human waste without being flustered at failing to find a trash can himself. Isn't that totally obvious?

What a lame and irrelevant point to make in the name of, I guess, garnering sympathy.

And no, if I saw an adult diaper left in public, I would not default to assuming the person needs respect for whatever they are "going through." I would default to gross. Nasty.

I agree. That would have been a nice way of handling it.

OP, you are on vacation! Go enjoy it!

I don't understand this.

What adult changes a diaper in public? Wouldn't that be done in a bathroom? They have public restrooms in such places. Furthermore, adults in diapers who can't figure out where to throw one out are probably accompanied by assistants, no?

In the heat of the moment I probably would have said something, however, I dont think I should. Objectively speaking, we never know how the other person may react, or of they are carrying a gun, etc.

You did the right thing, but I would not have said anything, but only because I'm a wimp.

If he had been a very well dressed and monied
White man, I doubt you and your husband would not have made an issue of it. Something tells me he was NOT.
