Seems to me the question of racism relates as much to the fact that the police did not arrest a man who had just killed someone. I admit to race-consciousness (but not racism) in wondering whether a black guy who had just killed someone would be treated with such sensitivity.

I don't mean to forget about innocence until proven guilty, but that does not preclude holding the person during the investigation.

How does Trayvon look like Obama other than race? Obama could have just said, as a parent I find this disturbing. I can't imagine if something would happen to one of my girls. But insteaad he said that he and Trayvon looked alike, which is creepy and about race.

The real issue is not what Obama said. The real issue is the disgustingly and dangerously biased information in the media. (1) Trayvon is portrayed in a photo from when he was 12 years old. He in actuality was 17, 6 foot 3 inches (that's right), and showed gang signs on one of his online sites. (2) Zimmerman had a laceration on his head and a broken nose. WHat actually happened was he was jumped by Trayvon, punched and his head slammed into the ground. You won't see that on MSNBC, but it's what happened. Witnesses corroborated it. Thank god Zimmerman had a gun, killed the thug, and is still alive today.

Well, that statement is a bloody lie. But, I know, all Black people look alike. That online photo is not of the Trayvon Martin that was murdered by Zimmerman. I also love how now the murdered TM jumped GZ, when GZ told the dispatcher that TM was running. So now all logic has run out the window. A person who is running from you while you are pursuing them in a vehicle is now the aggessor. Let's not forget GZ exited his vehicle at some point to approach TM. Why else would he exit the vehicle. So now a stranger approaches you and they become the aggressor.

I tell you what. If this shit persists, there are a couple of people that I would like to permanently take out. If I, and others, find that this stand your ground bs is so easy, I can imagine a lot of people will begin to use it.

If he were alive, it's possible that Martin could claim self defense in beating up Zimmerman but that doesn't change Zimmerman's ability to claim self defense once he's being beaten on by a much larger man.

all of you putting trayvon on trial are making the point that this entire episode needs to be addressed in a court of law and that zimmerman should have been arrested or the event should have been looked into further.

whether zimmerman was using self defense the entire way the police went about investigating this claim is bogus and he should have never been allowed to be free and not face trial. thats the bottom line

Baloney. Zimmerman had a broken nose lacerated skull and a witness that he was getting the crap beat out of him . It has been investigated for a month and there is not enough reasonable cause to arrest him.
