What?? What does this even mean "A 4 year old tells my daughter Miss Muffet away." Do you mean he tells your DD to "go away" or he calls her Miss Muffet? Your post makes no sense.

OP, I was at aboarding school in England (in the UK kids can be sent as early as 6 and 3/4, as my BIL was). We used nick names as terms of affection. We had nicknames such as Duck, Captain, Pinky, Wog (not politically correct now but it was used non racially even then -the girl had dark curly hair like the golly wog toy common in those days), Titler, Chimp, to name but a few. Yes, they started because something about the person put someone in mind of the nick name, but they were never used to tease. In fact, 35 years later, we still use most if the nick names, except for "Wog" of course.

My daughter wears glasses and this is why I think the boy calls her like this.

Seriously, you need to get over it. And calling the teacher after hours? THAT is out of line. I do daycare and I get tired of parents who call me after hours during my family time. Unless you are calling me to tell me kid has gotten sick and wont be in the following day, etc. Dont call. I can foresee you are going to be one of those problem parents as far as school goes for your kid. If the name Ms Muffet bothers you wait until your daughter is getting called much harsher names.

^^ I don't think Miss Muffet wears glasses.

OP, I really don't think you should worry unless you suspect your daughter is being teased. Nicknames are totally normal and just part of the whole socializing experience. My DS is called "chicken nugget" by one of the older kids at daycare, last week it was pizza. LOL. It's just something silly kids do!

My DD's teacher calls her "Smelly Belly" sometimes (rhymes with her name) and they call other kids in the class "Ting Ting" and "Big E". I wouldnt worry too much about Miss Muffet, particularly if your DD isnt bothered by it.

OP, really want to hear from you why this is an issue. Ms.Muffet is a cute character and your daughter is not upset...sooooooooooooooooooo

Maybe he's a Diceman fan, and wanted to know what's in her bowl, and that's why OP is upset?

(Like there's a chance than anyone on DCUM will get that reference . . . )

The funniest part of this thread is that handful of responders actually took her seriously and gave her suggestions on how to stop the 'hate language'. REALLY? This is so trivial that it's almost not real. Someone is messing with us.

At least he isn't calling her"Hot Cross Buns", 'cause then you'd need to throw down, right on the playground.
