Gonzaga seemed to have a lot of sibs and legacy this year, does anyone have a clue on how many spaces they have for new families this year?
Anonymous
Good question. My son loved the school and had a solid application going for him (we thought)! I'd be interested in how many spaces may have been up for grabs. Anyway, congrats to all those families (legacy or not) who were accepted.

You are talking about a school that takes in ~250 new students each year, so it's going to be pretty tough to pinpoint this with any accuracy.

Darn. That's a lot of spaces. I guess we were just flat out denied and that's that. Oh well.

PP - sorry, feel badly for your DS, what is your 2nd choice?

St. Albans. He liked both schools and we applied to both. Now I feel like crap! He did well on both the ssat and hspt.

Good luck, PP. I think Gonzaga had a glut of applications this year if my DD's school is any indicator. I think every boy in 8th grade applied there and that is not the norm for our school. I am sure they are turning away lots of great applicants this year. And if he got a yes from DeMatha, that is a fine school as well and much loved by the boys that attend. Congrats on his acceptance there.
