OMG I can't wait until we stop talking about Whitney Houston

I love passion. I listened to her funeral service, and there was definately passion. Her music had passion.
I lost 20 lbs working out to her music.

You people are really disgusting. I pray that I don't know any of you.

Her shining (clean) moment was very, very brief. That image was fleeting. To put her in the same category as Rosa Parks is, frankly, insulting.

Mourn. With a "u."

Morning and mourning are two very different things.

Also, while you're using insults, at least be accurate. I'm not sure it's ever been said that Whitney Houston prostituted herself.

Why do we honor police officers, firefighters, and paramedics but not soldiers? Good question.

Maybe because they are better paid than most soldiers?

I know about mourn/morn. I saw it after I posted. I wrote it correctly in the OP. We all do that sometimes. Type fast and make mistakes. It doesn't make Whitney any less of a crack whore. Oh excuse me, have the "image" of a crack whore.

Anonymous wrote:Enough America! She was a cracked out, over-rated singer, a neglectful mother, and a correct me if I'm wrong but a royal bitch and an entitled diva. And here we are, a nation in mourning. So weird. I thought the Superbowl chatter was annoying. This is worse.

I agree with you, but NO WAY was she an over-rated singer. She was raw talent and an amazing artist.

I don't know what very, very brief is to you, but she won 2 emmys, six grammies, she is the record holder for American Music Awards. Her breakthrough album was 1985, and she still had platinum selling singles in 1999. That year, the top selling album was Taylor Swift, and it only sold 3.2 million.

I'd say she had a solid 15 years of real output. By output, I mean she generated a $700 million in album sales alone during that time. And in her drug-induced decline, she sold another $55 million in cds alone.

Yes, she abused drugs and paid the price. Was she a fleeting talent? No. Was she a whore? No.

I hope her daughter will be ok. I read that Bobbi Kristina has been battling a substance abuse problems for the last few years. She is 18! Her dad won't be much help.

Crack whore? Nice.

I don't have any interest in mourning the woman or watching the funeral. You know what I do? I don't watch bullshit news channels or celebrity news shows. These steps help me avoid 99% of the coverage.

Seriously, how did she earn "whore?" She was with the same man for 18 years, which is more than most of DCUM can say. Can we stop using the term "whore"?

I think they meant that drug addicts will do anything to get their drugs, ie, crack whore.

How is this any different than Elvis? Another entertainer bites it of a drug overdose in the bathroom. Were you equally upset about his drugged out ass being put on a postage stamp? Just let those who want to honor her memory do so, why get upset?

Lots of people fall from addiction. It does not invalidate the contributions they made in their lifetimes.
