I highly suggest Physicians for Women. They are located in Alexandria, and their senior doctor on staff (Barry Rothman) used to be the Chief of Medical Staff at Inova Alexandria. I went through 2 high risk pregnancies, and they were terriffic. Due to my high-risk status, the doctors at PFW immediately referred me to the Alexandria Perinatal Diagnostics center for additional care, where the staff is also top-notch. The two groups work very well together. To be fair - the billing and front-desk staff at PFW can be lacking, but the doctors make up for it. |
This is the OP... sending a thank you to all for their recommendations and insights! |
Go to Dr. Brendan F. Burke and deliver at Sibley. |
I've heard these three are very hands-on and supportive:
Dr. Jean-Giles Tchabo - Virginia Hospital Center Dr. Paula McKenzie of Alexandria Women's Care Dr. Russell Bridges- Washington DC |
Not to start this same tired conversation again, but not everyone hates Dr. Reiter. I have seen him for ten years as my gynecologist and now am going to the practice for my first child -- I can't say anything bad. He has a very very dry sense of humor, which is definitely not a good fit for every patient, but his standard of care is excellent. He helped me with a serious medical issue that, if not for him, I wouldn't be on this board. I have only ever seen doctors at the DC office and have always had a quick response with issues. Just my experience, but I wanted to add a positive voice here. |
