Does it matter at all when you submit the application -- as long as it's before the deadline? Do the schools start sorting applications into different piles before the supposed admission committee meetings in February?

I would get them in early so that you have more options in terms of dates for interviews, playdates, etc. On the other hand, our friends submitted their application to Beauvoir on the very last day, and their child got in, so it doesn't matter that much.

It is best to apply early schools will not schedule for a play visit until then and then they may only have a few select dates left. This does not give you time to reschedule if your child is ill and cannot make the play date. Also, you don't want to end up with several play dates grouped together.
