You guys don't go out much, we can tell... And you can't read either. OP said the restaurants do offer Children's chairs. |

fabric chair cover with harness. |
Read the details...it says for approximately 6 months up to 35 lbs. When something says "approximately 6 months" it means that it is for when a child can hold its head upright. At 5 months, OP's DD is probably not holding her head up yet and it may be dangerous since that chair harness provides no neck support and doesn't lean backwards. |
| How the hell is it that your 5 month old cant hold it's head up? Given that mine could reliably do so at three months if assisted with mid body support-- |
|
Something like this or similar was going to be my suggestion too. They also have plain fabric ones that tie around the chair (brand names are escaping me at the moment). |

1. Room service 2. Take out 3. Friend's house 4. Lap.
When you go on vacations with a little baby, you get a condo or stay with relatives and you don't eat out at restaurants for every meal. |
For the duration of a dinner? Really. My twins are 3.5 months old and can hold their heads up for about 10-15 minutes at a time and then they tire. Same with the 4 month old in their daycare room. We're talking a restaurant dinner. Many babies can not hold their heads up consistently and for durations until 6 months. You want to put a 5-month old in a sling with no neck support for a dinner? Really? |

We've been going to all sorts of restaurants since our daughter was a few weeks old. We had a bucket seat so I don't have any great suggestions but I wanted to suggest going as early as possible for dinner. We've always done this and I think it alleviates the anxiety a little so that you're not so worried about your little one making a little noise. Fewer people and likely other families when you go earlier rather than later.
Have fun on your vacation! |
| Oh yeah. You leave the kid flat on its back all the time. Mine were crawling/low crawling to wherever they wanted to be by five months but we put them on their tummies on the floor. They chased the dogs, mostly... |
Sorry, my 4 month old has complete neck control, and can practically sit unassisted. I assume a 5+ month old can do even better.... |
I don't know any babies (barring any SN that result in gross motor delays or low muscle tone) that can't hold their heads up at 5 months. |
OP, calm down. Get a bucket seat and enjoy your vacation. |
| We stuffed the ergo behind the wooden seat to hold him up. Worked like a charm. |
| Why are you feeding your daughter solids when she's not developmentally ready for them? |

How long will your holiday be?
I would recommend that you stay at a place similar to an extended stay that has a kitchen. Cook your own food. No need to eat at restaurants. |
