I felt terrible for Kennedy - that birthday party! She was dragged there hours in advance, totally over-tired, had no clue that the song was for her and was too exhausted to even realize she was getting a horse for a present. That party was NOT for her, it was for Taylor. Sad.

Re: Kennedy's bday party

isn't this the second year in a row that Taylor had a musician compose/perform a special bday song for Kennedy? What's up with that? Totally not my style and figured "meh" last year. But doing it AGAIN this year? My "meh" became "you've really got to be kidding me."

I agree with PP re: Kyle and Adrianne trying to stop Taylor for saying something on camera that might put her in danger. I think she is abused on hitting a wall. Might not be physical, but some abusers know how to cause pain w/o showing signs.

I hate that I love this show.

oh, and didn't Brandi seem naked in that white dress. And why did celebrity rehab sober house woman host a wine party?

But she said he broke her jaw. If he broke her jaw, her friends would have noticed. There are pictures on the net of Taylor around the time she said he broke her jaw. Nothing. She is a pathetic POS. And she puts the fight for domestic violence victims backwards. Ugh.

I loved Brandi' dress. I think Kyle is jellybeans about Brandi.

I'm the OP and am finally getting back to this thread! Looks like I have a lot of time to waste tonight reading recaps.

Re: Brandi-I actually feel kind of sorry for her. One, because I cannot stand LeAnn Rimes and so I feel for her side of the divorce with her husband. Two, and she even articulated it in last night's episode, she's just trying to fit in with these women who are so nasty to her. She's at least willing to admit that she wants to be accepted.

That being said, Adrienne is the only remotely likeable person on this show, and this season she's testing that judgement in my opinion. Who cares that Lisa is not staying at your hotel in Vegas? How many bajillion dollar do you have? Do you really think it's going to affect your business?

I don't remember the song from last year but I definitely remember the Alice in Wonderland party and I thought Taylor had a moment of clarity after that where she realized it was all wayyy too much for the kids.

Re: the broken jaw or not... Taylor may have thought that no one would believe her about the abuse unless it was really serious. I read some articles saying that there was verbal abuse, shoving, hair pulling, choking... that is abuse. I just think it's so sad... knowing what we know from last season and her work with the domestic violence charity and growing up in a home where that happened... and now modeling that behavior for her child.

PP 19:39 here, I meant to add that apparently Taylor didn't learn anything from her moment of clarity after the 4th birthday.

I think I read somewhere that Taylor's daughter is autistic, which might explain why the party went right over her head both years.

I hadn't heard that but her daughter is hardly ever on screen... so it's hard to say. But the parties would have gone over any kid's head, honestly. Four-five hours long, lavish costumes, tons of entertainment... overwhelming for an adult.

Another comment - if Kyle was so sure that nothing was going on with Kim at the charades party, why was she going into the bathroom with her every time? She wouldn't have done that unless she was suspicious or trying to keep an eye on her. I get that Brandi was out of line with the crystal meth comment but it's clear that Kyle suspected something... otherwise she wouldn't have been glued to her sister in the bathroom all night. The amount of denial is frustrating.

Kim is in rehab as of this week. Again. Brandi was probably wrong about meth but come on, Kyle needs to quit acting like her family's shit doesn't stink. It doesn't take a genius to figure out Kim is on something, clearly; even Brandi who thought Winston Churchill was an influential black man figured it out.

No tears when she breaks down, and an oddly complete recovery from her breakdown - within minutes, going back into the house to collect her purse, all the while smirking and speaking calmly - on Monday's episode. Also, in the previous episode when they met with their "therapist," if there'd been physical abuse, wouldn't that rather serious issue have come up in the discussion? And isn't physical abuse something that requires reporting?

I don't believe Taylor's upset about anything other than her financial situation. She seems very jealous and resentful of her costars' better financial circumstances.

Yes, therapists are required to report domestic abuse. However, this guy was an "osteopath" and I have no idea if they are mandatory reporters. Or if domestic abuse ever came up.

Taylor is remarkable at breaking down and straightening the fuck up at the drop of a pin. Con artist.

Well.. that therapy session was totally for the cameras. You can't really expect them to go into physical abuse issues on film. I mean, apparently Taylor had been talking to all the women about it and those conversations never made it on film (except when Camille finally snapped at Lisa's tea party).

And to be honest I found them (at the therapy session) quite obviously talking around the issue. I thought that segment was very awkward and sad. And I'm not positive but I don't think a therapist has any requirement to report physical abuse of an adult patient to the police. But I could be wrong.

Taylor really does, in my opinion, personify a victim of abuse of some kind. Her absolute desperation to be liked (you can really see the moment when Lisa finally gets it and just gives in in order to get Taylor to stop being so pathetic), her willingness to take on guilt even when she's trying to get an apology (when Lisa apologizes and Taylor immediately says, "It's my fault too"). It doesn't surprise me that Taylor and Russell look totally normal when on camera together. It's all part of Taylor's fairy tale... small town girl gets rich and lands the "perfect" life.

This is by far one of the saddest seasons of any iteration - between the abuse, the suicide, Kim's addiction... a great reminder that being rich really doesn't make one automatically happy.

I will go Oklahoma on you. Ha. I think if there was any pushing, shoving and verbal abuse, it went both ways. Look, Taylor/Shana is a con artist. She is a grifter. Bravo told her to spike it up and she she spiked it up at the expense of her family.

I feel for Kim's children. Her youngest are high school or middle school aged, right? Having your mom's alcohol/pill issues splattered across the news/tv would suck so much as a teen/pre-teen. Not to mention her behavior - air freshener for breath spray for example. I think Kyle is trying to portray Kim in a more positive light by covering for her, etc... But she fails her every time.

I could be wrong, but think her desperation to be liked is about getting people to a place where she can manipulate people. Seems like that moment where Lisa finally *got* Taylor was Lisa understanding that Taylor's emotionally disturbed, but she's not seeing that Taylor's brand of emotional disturbance translates into manipulating and basically victimizing people.
