Ha ha. Very funny! But you have me all wrong. I'm looking into a car service for ultra-reliability. I saw lots of recs for Red Top (which we've used tons) but I didn't think they'd originate in Maryland.

PP who said "it would be hard to book a car unless you're prepared to miss the end of the concert" I don't know what you mean.

I still can't get figure out what time the concert ends so I'm prepared to pay a waiting fee if we go the car/cab route.

I hadn't thought about a hotel room but I did think about an evening out with the 5 (almost 6) year old, dinner, movie, sleeping bag in the back of the car for him, book for me. It wouldn't win me mother of the year, but it could be doable.

Your 5 year old will think you're the mother of the year if you take him to the ginormous toy store next to the movie theater in Silver Spring and buy him something! I don't know the name of it--it may be a temporary thing. It's on Ellsworth near Fenton. That theater (Majestic 20) usually seems to have a lot of kids movies.
