WDYT of the name Bruce for a baby boy?

It really makes me weep that a parent or other adult would label a name as "gay". Since I am fairly certain that you do not mean "happy", what other names are homosexual to you? If I name my child Bruce he will really be thought of as having sex with other men? Really?

Such an immature, stupid thing to say & think.

Wow, no WAY! Gosh, you are so smart, why didn't I think of that?

Now maybe if I explain it to you very carefully you will get it - every Bruce I have ever met has already been an adult when I met them. Therefore, it is hard for me to picture it as a name for a little kid. I still like the name. Oh, and I also don't think it's "gay."

Bruce Springsteen... that's a good connotation (at least for me).

I like the name, OP. I've known one or two kids with the name, and it's my grandfather's middle name.

If you like it go ahead and use it.

I'm just astonished that people think of "gay" as in insult. Still? Really?

When it is used in a mean spirited way at the PP intended, yes it is an insult.

Additionally, as someone with a gay brother, I would not wish gay on my worst enemy, and would certainly not want my child to be gay. Not because I would think less of him, but seeing the teasing and hurt my brother has gone through in his life, despite the fact that our family has always rallied around has been very painful. People like the PP who use gay with an undertone of insult are part of the problem.
