Is it because I have a boy, OP? I don't see that you did anything so horrible. I assume you've warned her in the past not to wiggle, that she might fall. She fell. Oops! Mommy warned you. Did you bonk your head? Bonk, bonk. Time to get ready for school. Let's go.

I transitioned DS to a twin bed somewhere between 15-18 months. Sure he fell out a few times (maybe four?) then he figured it out. All good.

I agree. I have 3 boys and jumping off of tables, couches, beds, etc. is a daily occurrence. We also put our 20 month old in a twin bed recently and he has fallen out a couple times, but usually keeps right on sleeping on the floor.

I let my 7 YO DS wear Keens sandals with white socks to school today.

I've done that but with fake Crocs . . . even worse.

I've done the fake Crocs, too. Lime green. Sometimes with socks. I am ashamed.

Yet if even a fraction of what's been described here happened in a child care setting, Pre-K, or elementary school (in an environment of 16, 20, or more children with only two adults in the room), you'd probably go ape shit and demand someone be fired. Or would you try to be rational about it?
