Let's just all be thankful they did not cast Jennifer Aniston. I liked her at one point but I've seen way too many movies where she has played Jennifer Aniston. And you know she was considered.

Amen, sister. Or, Rachel Weisz. Or Vera Farmigia (sp? -- the actress from "Up In the Air"). Or Nicole Kidman. Or, yes, Reese Witherspoon -- she could play mid-30s convincingly, with the right makeup, and that would be close enough if they're going to insist on making it an American story. (Thereby completely gutting the class insecurity issues that were so elemental to Kate Reddy's character, but I digress. Not that I'm bitter or anything, oh no, not at all). Or, the actress who plays Kristina on Parenthood. Honestly, ANY of these would be a better choice than SJP. She. Just. Does. Not. Work. At. ALL.

Reese is a great actress but I don't think I'd ever buy her as anyone other than a mom who has her shit together, right make up or not. Def agree that Vera Farmigia would have been perfect!

Just saw the commercial- oh does SJP bother me! And I was once a SITC fan (but not because of her but because of the cast combination and story).. she really should just not act like she's acting anymore and spare us- how she landed this role is beyond my belief!
