| When it is delivery, I give the person about 10%. I just add whatever the first number ($43.29) is to the total (so $4). I figure these people have to drive and climb (our huge) front steps and I kind of feel cheap not giving them 15 or 20% but that also seems too much. For straight take-out I add nothing for most cuisines, but 10% for sushi since its an espcially labor-intensive process. |
| 10% or a couple bucks depending on total bill. |
| I tip for curb side carry out. |
| Nope. |
| Yes. Usually $2-$4 depending on the order. Family of 2. |
| No. I do not ever tip with take out. |
|
I never tip takeout.
And I very rarely even order it. If I was to eat take out I would not pay |
| Yes for delivery and yes if they bring it to my car. If I walk in to pick it up, then no. |
| hmm - since most people don't tip - this should not be considered a "tipped" position and should be paid minimum wage. |
|
Wow, you people are cheap.
Like PP who quotes Sietsema, I always tip 10-20%. |
| Does anyone tip when they buy ready made meals at Giant or wholefoods? |
| OMG - it is not cheap to tip for something you aren't getting! Hellloooooooooo!!!! |
|
It is not cheap to NOT tip for something you aren't getting, is what I meant to say.
How is this cheap? I think you are worried people will think YOU are cheap if you don't tip, so you tip out of pressure, which instead of thinking you are just generous, makes me think you are a pushover. |
| How much do you tip for buffet. You get your own food and a waitress bring your drnks. |
