Are skinny jeans out for fall?

PP, if you get the right pair, they can be universally flattering.

I agree (sadly). Bootcut or wide leg do a lot more for more women (especially with heels). But I also agree that if you invest in a good pair (read: not target), they will look good on you, regardless of how much you hate your thighs...

I like skinny and straight leg jeans. Also boy jeans. I haven't worn boot cut since the 90's. Are they still around?

NO ONE is wearing flats with them - high, high skin-toned wedges and pumps. Everyone looks fabulous in them. I'm heading to Barney's tomorrow for a pair!

I would say that skinny jeans will be okay in the fall in DC, but not by next spring. I am giving mine away to charity.

Yes, I'm seeing lean but flared jeans with heels. One of the marketing emails I received called them "not too skinny jeans". The reign of terror is at last ended!

Yikes, sounds a little too Austin Powers for me. Straight leg is most flattering I think. Very classic, but you can go in a 1,000 directions with the top.

It is hard becasue I like being current, and skinny jeans are really tricky to pull off, but I really feel so out of style in bootcut jeans. I know I should not care, but when I am the only girl in the room NOT in skinny jeans, it feels weird.

Paige are awesome if you have some junk in your trunk.

I am a SAHM, not really practical for me to wear bootcut jeans everyday with heels. Sure on nights out but not during the day usually. So I am going to continue to wear skinny and straight jeans this fall with flats and boots. 5'7" 130 lbs, look good in skinny jeans

Skinny jeans are not out, but the flare is back with a vengeance! And yes, I do think it's more flattering for most people BUT there are some people (esp. those with thicker calves, IMO) that can really rock skinny jeans well. Also, boots over skinny jeans are definitely still fashionable.

You think people with thicker calves look good in skinny jeans? Interesting, I would say I think the opposite. I think they only look good on people with very thin legs - although I suppose thin thighs is more important than thin calves to pull it off.

Skinny jeans can look good on women whose thighs/buts are proportionate to their legs, even if they are not slim, meaning straight down look. But many of us, our hip area is larger and we have skinny legs. Skinny jeans emphasize our saddle bags, not a pretty look

This might be the dumbest question ever asked on DCUM, but is there a difference between "skinny" jeans and "straight" jeans? I have some that were labeled "straight" (ironically, they are actually "curvy straight"), and they are not as flattering as boot cut but are super comfortable.

And I actually think that picture of Kim K looks more attractive than the ridiculously skinny model at the bottom of page 2.

It's too hot for tight jeans. only wider legs are comfortable in the summer. you will see more skinny jeans when it starts to cool off.

Yep. Thin legs, or evenly thicker legs work, or for people who aren't super hip-centric. Skinny jeans don't work so well for me because even though I am thin, I am hip-py with very skinny calves, so skinny jeans actually make my hips look REALLY disproportionately wide...and make my calves look like toothpicks.

Yes, there is a difference. Curvy likely refers to the waist/hip area, straight is the leg. Skinny is narrower than straight at the bottom, though some skinny jeans have narrower openings than others.

I'm 36, and I used to be the only one not wearing them. I finally lost 10 lbs, and got a pair of J Brand that are pretty flattering.

I am 30 and my friends all still wear them

Why am I annoyed by your post? You irritate me for some reason.
