New Ward 7 boundaries might encircle Eastern

Anonymous
15:35, You have barked up the wrong tree, let me be more specific, that "certain" Ward 6 parents who have been involved have been quite substantial. See, this is where the confusion comes from, when people say Ward 6 parents are involved, it also means that there are parents who actually have children in Eastern that are intricately involved.

The Capitol Hill "stroller brigade" parent(s) have been only opinionated and that where the line of distinction is drawn. We have many Ward 6 parents who will say that will not send their children to Eastern but we have just as many that will and have sent their children.

Generational.

It is not always about helping at times, it is about defending when needed.

As for our marching band we appreciate all of the out pouring of support that comes from the community and beyond. This why I sometimes I am torn with the Ward 6 community, they will applaud in one motion and then finger point with disgusts with the next gesture.

I will say actions speaks louder than words and if the redistricting comes to reality that Eastern is encircled by Ward 7; then to their credit ,they have the newest high-schools in their wards e.g., new Woodson, Ceasar Chavez, Friendship Collegiate and lest not forget KIPP.

If support is, what support does then Alexander has shown what she will and has done to support the future of education for her entire Ward and not just a "hill."

I am the first to say that the grass is not always greener on the other side, it just shows that they might have done more work.

By chance, have you met our wonderful new principal Ms. Skerritt she's of the Ward 6 community not only as a employee but as a resident. I would just say to all of those who feel that Eastern is not ready for their children, just be patient. I'll promise you will say in the not so distant future, is your child ready for Eastern.

We all know that history does and can repeat itself.

Good dialogue and feel free to come to Eastern and visit. As the future princpal said during her interview, that Eastern should be a place, upon you entering, where everyone should know your name.

I am excited about the upcoming school year for Eastern. How about you, don't be a stranger it is much better to be a Rambler?
