when to walk away from a friendship?

PP again...wanted to clarify...I don't want you staying in an emotionally abusive friendship. What I am suggesting is be gentle and start with a break. If she doesn't get help and make amends I personally would let the break gradually turn into a cut off. You don't deserve such horrible behavior, but at the same time I think a major confrontation in person or in writing could set off such awful things with someone who is mentally unstable that you may suffer even more.
