(where's the rotflmao emoticon?). Anyway, it has granered many favorable reviews but is usually described as "very Southern," so if that doesn't appeal to you ...
I dunno if a degree from there cuts much ice above the Mason-Dixon line. |
should hve been "garnered."

You really must be kidding. I graduated from Auburn and you would be shocked at how many people in this area chat me up about it! |
Is that a good school? I've heard the name but don't know anything about it. Same for Clemson. Both are good sports schools? - Northerner |
chatting you up = alumni support? I dunno, just asking.

| Another school to consider might be University of Delaware. Lots of majors to choose from - strong engineering and business school. I believe education is good, too. Size is about twice that of UVA but half that of Penn State. Of course you'd be paying out of state tuition, which stinks. It does have a beautiful campus, similar in style to UVA. |
Er...have you seen the way most kids write? Ok, maybe more difficult to tell at that age but you wouldn't believe the number of non-age appropriate perfect papers we see at our private K - 8.

Ha! I was going to ask the same question. West Coaster. |

| St. Mary's College of Maryland or Mary Washington. |
| What about VCU now that they've done so well in March Madness? |
| My oldest daughter goes to JMU and we're sending my second daughter as well. It is an absolutely amazing school. Make sure to check it out for your son! |

I graduated from Mary Washington, then went to grad school at Va Tech. I liked both schools, but think Mary Washington was better for an undergrad. My profs. knew me by name. No way that could happen in the huge freshman classes at Tech.
My husband went to Christopher Newport as an undergrad, back when it was mostly a commuter school. The campus has really grown recently and I hear it's now a much better school. |
Why is it an amazing school I know lots of kids who don't get into UVA, W&M, or Wash. & Lee do go there, but that just makes it second tier even within Virginia. I don't see how that name on an job application would cut much ice much very far beyond Harrisonburg, VA. Enlighten me please.

UVA has rampant alcoholism. How quickly you all forget Huguely and the drinking of the team-and that's a coach watched group. Alcohol death at Cornell: http://cornellsun.com/section/news/content/2011/03/28/six-sae-pledges-leave-campus Drinking and hazing. Go no frat. |
