I think Dale should resign and I will start a separate thread on that. I do think it's interesting as a PP noted that employees certainly don't deal with a "no tolerance" policy, yet the students have to. Also, the teenage brain is not fully formed. In fact research suggests the centers of the brain for say impulse control are not fully developed until 20/21. Teenagers are going to make mistakes-at least most will. For all those smug parents with their seemingly "perfect" children who don't get it...I have news for you. If they aren't boundary testing now, they will I promise. It might happen in college when they are away from your careful watch or it may happen later or they may be doing things now you don't even know about.


While I'm getting fesisty. I am always surprised when adults take the attitude, if it doesn't affecvt MY family, then it doesn't matter. This is about what is good for OUR children collecticely. Morals and ethics are not just about YOU, they are about the greater good. Teens need to be able to make mistakes and have reasonable NOT draconian consequences.

Curious if the same level of outrage would have ensued if this were a colored kid with the same qualifications and background. Going by the general tone of DCUM, I'm guessing not. Disclaimer: No disrespect meant for the Stubans.

What a stupid question. The kid killed himself because of the draconian policies of the school. They are slaves to idiocy and should be tried for murder because that's exactly what they're guilty of. And for no good reason what so ever! It wouldn't surprize me in the least if they proudly bragged about being a "no place for hate" locality.
