
In the case of Michael Vick, federal sentencing guidelines were 18-24 months. He got 23 months. He got more than any of the other people involved in the crimes. So while you may not feel that federal law meets with your expectation of justice, it is pretty clear that Vick was not given any break because of his celebrity. He also lost about $140 million from the termination of his contract with the Falcons and the loss of his endorsement deals. Not that he's wondering where his next meal comes from, but he got punished by his employer and the marketplace. He's not making anything close to that. I think his eagles contract was for 1.5 million in 2009 and 5 million in 2010. That puts him $133 million in the hole. |
