Great post, since no one else had raised the issue of whether the original post constituted bragging. Keep the insightful posts coming, PP! |
| It's anonymous so who the f*ck cares? This was one of the few posts that came off as relieved rather than bragging and I actually hope this woman's daughter gets in. |
| As I noted above, it might be anonymous but posting the breakdown could make the application identifiable to admissions folks. Never a good idea. This point has been made on College Confidential's Prep School forum in spades. |
| When should we expect December ssat test results? Didn't sign up for any 'expedited' service. I was estimating after Christmas. Thanks. |
Admissions people are to busy to troll DCUM and then cross reference the applications. Good for the proud mom, she is happy for her kid. |
| We got DC's results via email yesterday. |
| 18:39 Myth. They click around the Internet just like the rest of us. (I bet they love TMZ!) They're human. Imagine that! |
Read carefully. Yeah, some admissions people might monitor what is on forums like DCUM. ALL are too busy to go the application files to try to match up applicants with posted SSAT scores. People need to get past the paranoia. |
| Not paranoia. This sort of thing is mentioned on College Confidential ALL THE TIME -- warning not to be too revealing lest admissions folks figure out who you are. This woman not only gave her daughter's SSAT score breakdown, she let us know her extracurricular, too. Bad form, since taken together it's really identifying. |
| P.S. I do read carefully. |
| We got the results for the Dec. 11th test today. |
Citing warnings of other Internet nervous nellies doesn't prove a thing. If you know some admissions people, try asking them if they would look-up scores to see whose mama is on DCUM, or they can imagine any of their peers doing so. What do people think those working in schools do all day, honestly, that they'd waste their time in that manner? I am not saying that your concern was not genuinely felt, but am saying it is unfounded. We will have to agree to disagree on this one. |
