But on College Confidential it's mostly kids asking others to "chance me" at particular colleges. Like, "I got 2300 on the SATs, GPA is 4.3, and my extracurriculars are president of the Latin Club and seeker on the Quidditch Team, what are my chances of getting into Brown?" They aren't simply boasting. They are looking for information from others who know some kids who got into Brown recently and can compare the poster to these admitted kids.

Actually there is a whole section for prep school kids, mostly applying to boarding schools, posting SSAT scores. A lot of parents seem to post on the prep school section. OP would fit in much better there, although not likely to get input on whether her kid can get into Sidwell. Of course that doesn't seem to be the info she's looking for anyway.

OP, FYI, my DC started at a Big 3 this year and DC's SSAT scores were nothing like that.

The OP sounds over-eager but sincerely excited. The rest of the posters, give or take one or two milquetoast critics, sound like jealous shrews.

"Of course that doesn't seem to be the info she's looking for anyway. "

Bragging rights only. Really pathetic.

9:29 I'm a PP. Not jealous in the least. Stunned on several levels. 1. The scores are her daughter's, not hers, to post. Privacy, anyone? Most of the posters posting SSAT scores on College Confidential are students, not parents. 2. Not previously stated: Admissions folks read DCUM and could easily identify this applicant. What are the chances of another girl with those precise scores applying? So, not a strategic move on the mother's part.

If you're Asian, your DD's scores are too low.

Good grief....all of you posters need to get over yourselves....especiall the "teachable moment" poster .

Those scores are great OP...you've got one smart cookie! Good luck with the admissions applications.

OP. Good luck with applications and happy thanksgiving!

BTW, people post about their 4 year olds getting 99% on WPPSI all the time. SSAT scores are actually more reflective of academic abilities.

Let's all be nice for the holidays.

Still haven't gotten our scores yet... anyone else still waiting?

There's a difference between responding when others ask about WPPSI scores and initiating a brag session.

My daughter had similar scores and was rejeted form the big 3 schools to which we applied, so you might want to have a back up plan.

Great scores but can the lass write and speak coherently and persuasively?

I know this is pretty late, but I think posting the scores on-line was really thoughtless. How do you think it would make other parents whose children did not get as good grades feel? I'm sorry, I know you weren't trying to make anyone feel bad, but what you wrote just seems like bragging instead of being helpful.
