| The point is it's common knowledge that teachers get no support and all the blame. Underperformance is expected as we are ordered by our admin to do 80 hours of work and paid for 40 and then blamed that we only did 70. |
|
I would caution you to not talk about the teacher in a derogatory way in front of your child. That just sets the stage for the child to have a bad attitude toward the teacher and expect bad things.
|
| Instead of parents teaming up with teachers to teach students. Parents, admin, and students fight the teacher if the teacher doesn't roll over. As this dynamic gets more popular, are we teacher suppose to battle 300 kids per year that want to play lawyer on us. 8d rather focus on planning and grading than hailing a popularity contest. |
CPS only cares if there are visible injuries. |
Thank you for saying that. Especially since no one has the full story I’m sure. |
Mic drop. End of thread. |
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA |
List the complaints. Often principals have favorites and they give the most difficult students to teachers they don't like. So maybe the real reason parents complained there were a couple of out of control kids in that teacher's classroom and the teacher didn't do enough. Or the teacher yelled at the students. Or it could be that the teacher is legitimately bad. The problem is you really don't know. Why are you wasting time worrying about this now when you don't even know what teacher your child is getting next year? Sound like you borrow trouble and get all worked up over things that aren't even going to occur. |
What a misogynistic comment!!! |
And every year since, she has been at a different school. Good news is that she retired this year. Trust me, her teammates and fellow staff members (and admin) did everything they could to get her removed! |

Underperforming teachers are typically provided with mentor teachers, extra evaluations, extra support with para-educators and extra oversight by admin.
TBH, you should be grateful because the experienced teacher across the hall won't have as much support as your kid in this classroom. The other alternative is a substitute teacher, which would be wayyyyy worse. |
| Every sub my child has had in elementary has been a retired teacher and they have been GREAT. |
True IME. But it didn't make the class great to get the extra para. She was still a teacher with poor skills. |
This is so true! |
