I am assuming the people saying 1 pair of pjs are talking real pjs under which they are wearing probably 8 pairs of underwear.

Um no? I don't wear underwear with PJs. I have PJ sets of pants or shorts with a shirt.

Yikes. Are you one who is only bringing 1 set then? That would be gross.

I shower before bed, and also wear clean cotton underwear under my PJs. No sleeping nude. So, I would use 2 underwear a day (morning and night), and I could make do with 4 PJs, but optimal is 8 PJs.

Why is clothes in luggage an issue? Are you not using vacuum bags to reduce bulk?

1 pair. I have merino wool PJs that breathe well and don’t hold odors.

I’d bring 4-5 old clean t shirts and 2 bottoms and leave the tees behind so suitcase room for anything purchased

Same. This is what I use at home anyway. I’ve never owned a “set of pjs”.

THIS is the answer.

I knew DCUM was a little crazy but am completely reevaluating: you'll are 99% neurotic and absolutely bonkers. Am gravely worried about the future of our world with so many crazies raising children

I think it makes a big difference if you sleep with underwear. I do And would bring 2 pairs If not many more

You should let your undercarriage breathe. No underwear at night.

2 pairs of "pajamas" that are just athletic shorts and t-shirts.

How many pairs of PJs does one own at home if they have 8 pairs to bring on vacation?

One. Maybe wash them at some point. I don't sleep in underwear and shower before bed. I don't sweat at night.

I always take one extra in case 1 gets soiled.

One set, and travel size Woolite for hand washing.

Correct.

I take 3-4. Three if it’s a normal week, 4 if it’s “that time of the month” with the spare being an outfit I could wear outside or to workout in a pinch if not needed for emergency sleeping purposes.

I sleep in underwear and tend to shower at night when on vacation. Also, I’m not leaving the house in my jammies, so I’m not bringing the outside world in. After airing it out during the day it doesn’t smell.

I would probably only bring 2 and an outfit that could be worn to bed, but I’ve gotten norovirus on vacation too many times to do that now.

I just wear a merino wool tank dress. I shower before bedtime.
People who bring 4-8 sets of pjs- do you shower before bedtime? If so, what are you doing at night that warrants changing pjs every night?
Do you do that at home too?
