The Blueprint does not demand logo polo shirts for administrators and personal MCPS credit cards for administrators. A $15,000,000 credit card bill is not part of the Blueprint. |
| Is there a part of the handbook or explanation from the board and the union on the rules of working 70 hours per week instead of 40 or on how is best to manipulate the grades for ghost students or how is best to ignore the crime. We need to know the rules before they fire and destroy our careers right out of college. |

Yeah Taylor seems more willing than previous superintendents to "play chicken" with staff and families. I find it pretty disgraceful |
The biggest issue is compensation costs growing faster than revenues. |
I made less money, but honestly, I had a better work experience in PGCPS than in MCPS. Look for information about the reputation of principals, if you can get that. A good principal makes a big difference. |
If this is true, Taylor needs to be fired. In the end, it actually may be helpful that he acts with such arrogant impunity at every turn. At some point, the board will cut him loose, when they see it's them or him. |
Check the SEIU contract. You should have access to this. |
Not ableist. It’s math. Every teacher should already be certified in at least one content area. They will get placed in the involuntary transfer process or change districts. There is a teacher shortage so they WILL find a job. |
Got 3 certifications myself, you're not wrong! |
Taylor gets big raises yearly. |
I'm a media assistant, not a teacher, but I got one of those letters last Tuesday. I imagine the teachers whose positions were on Taylor's list got similar ones. |
So Taylor is already firing teachers when the Board hasn't voted on his plan? |
Are you talking about the letters last week saying their jobs were at threat? Or did he actually tell people in the last few days that they have actually been fired? If you are just talking about the former-- I deeply disagree with and dislike Taylor, but he was asked by County Council to make lists to tell them who would be laid off depending on how much funding was passed or not. And honestly, I kind of feel like it would be *more* disrespectful to put a list out there saying certain of your employees are in line to be cut but then not say anything to those employees directly? |
