UVA or UNC for premed

UVA scales higher every year and also charges more for specific majors. Make sure you check that. I know not business but that is a good example, first 2 years 45k in state, last 2 55k in state! They really stick it to you yoy.

Premed at UVA is pretty cutthroat, not sure about UNC. If your kid is tippy top, probably doesn't matter, but otherwise, it's a slog.
I think it's challenging at all schools, but not sure UVA is cutthroat. DD'S roommate's boyfriend, rising 3rd yr, is pre-med and arranged group study sessions for Org Chem. Students share notes and seem to support each other - at least his class. OP, both schools are great options.Congrats to your DC.

They are about the same for pre-med.

Not true. First year is not at McIntire, as everyone knows - you apply from first year into the undergrad program - it's not direct admit. So the first year is $42,104. If you get into McIntire, year 2 is only $43,256. second and third years are $55K. which is still a great deal compared to privates which, like my SLAC, have surpassed $100K.
