Was English SOL challenging this time for 7th Graders ?

When will be the SOL results for 7th grade Algebra 1 Honors will be published?

My 7th grade AAP student at SCMS scored in the upper 400s and has never been below 500 until this year. He’s in the 98th %ile in iReady. But he has had a terrible year of English instruction (literally in AAP they have written NO essays and have read only two very easy books. ALL YEAR!!!! All they do is NoRedInk and a bunch of passages and excerpts with comprehension questions. Over and over and over again, comprehension questions. Multiple choice. All year.

I hate it. I used to teach 7th grade English and my advanced classes wrote an essay every 2 weeks and 3-4 novels a quarter. 2 a year makes me apoplectic with frustration at what he is not getting.
