The Devil Wears Prada 2

I enjoyed it. I think they had a good idea with the plot but it wasn't executed as well as it could have been. Kenneth Branagh is my boyfriend so I enjoyed seeing him, but am a bit surprised he took such a tiny part. The plot with Andy's boyfriend was completely unneccesary and added nothing.

Fans of the first film will probably like it; otherwise wait for streaming.

Fan here and I did not enjoy it.

Sounds like I should wait for the streaming. Sequels rarely live up to the hype. It’s so hard to recreate the magic of the original because as the viewer you get attached your ideal continuation of the characters lives.

Somewhat unrelated but Pretty Woman is streaming on Netflix right now and that final scene with Edward coming back and climbing up the fire escape to rescue Vivian really sets the stage for a sequel but I’m so glad Pretty Woman 2 never made. Sometimes it’s just better to leave us with the questions.

A rambling, uninteresting mess with at least three unneeded characters who just sucked air time, adding nothing. Milan and New York looked nice though.

I took my 7-year-old daughter last weekend. She really enjoyed the original - we watched that to prepare for the sequel. We had fun, but were slightly bored. The sequel is not nearly as good as the original. I hated all the politically correct crap and the way Miranda changed into someone much less supremely confident and cutting. That was what made the first movie so much fun. Thumbs down.

Typo…unless you’re Lindsay Brunnock. 😂

Pretty Woman was a gross movie that was only popular because Julia Roberts was so captivating.

People aren't allowed to be as politically incorrect now. That's factual. I liked that the character was hanging up her coat and saying thank you.

What politically correct crap are you referring to?

DPP. The assistant, Amari, would try to prevent Miranda from saying harsh/politically insensitive words at the conference table.

Not a typo at all. He's my forever boyfriend. The fact he isn't aware of this is irrelevant...

And Meryl Streep literally was hobbling during some scenes. And her hair was so thin. Stanley Tucci looked so wrung out too. Emily Blunt had her new face. Anne Hathaway too, and she had to make up for it by acting like the same insecure Andy with zero growth in 20 years.

Meryl Streep is supposedly going to be Aslan in the new Netflix Narnia series.

Can we cancel her already

I liked it, although I found the celebrity cameos distracting. Even Lady Gaga -- who CAN act -- seemed jammed in there with bad dialogue.

She was terrible in it and I think she’s a great actress.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 exceeded my expectations.

Usually, sequels in this genre are horrible:
The Sex and the City Movie,
Bridget Jones Diary sequels
Mamma Mia

That's the competition, and The Devil Wears Prada sequel was better than any of them.

The dialogue was fine.
The casting was fine.
Was any of that excellent? No. But what sequel of a non-action movie has been better?

Also, movies lately are all action movies. This wasn't and. it was decent. Thus, perfectly adequate given expectations.
