| You do your own laundry, put yourself to bed, and make your own lunch - you are a mom to yourself. |
🙄 I agree that it’s a silly policy but “parental status” is not a protected class. Also, I don’t think this post is real. |
| Let the moms spend some time with their kids ..jeez |

This is why companies cant do nice things.
Way back my first job we had a no longer used policy still on books of giving $5,000 in cash as a bonus to married man upon birth of first child, turns out they stopped doing it in early 1970s but I saw it in an old policy once. Same policy we also threw a big party for women on birth of first child in policy. Whole wedding shower thing with lunch and a registry, even car service home to take all the gifts. Same policy Women getting married in that year got an extra week vacation to plan wedding. Also gave first preference to employee kids interns, women or men could expense food if they entertain at home or bring food to office. Had a big company Picnic, Kids Santa Party, Company Baseball game. We also had a pension and medical in retirement. Although no maternity leave women using sick days and stuff, got six months fully paid time off and only one copay when giving birth and work sent a huge gift to Mom. Moms young kids exempt from OT and anytime school closed early could leave early and get paid. Guess what everything disappeared over time. People said unfair they stop and never replaced. Most companies said no mater what nice thing we try people complain so why do it |
