What wildly popular show did/do you dislike?

Could not watch ozark. I’m so over the trope of “ordinary suburban person accidentally falls into criminal underworld and does increasingly illegal and violent things to protect themselves from exposure and keep the money coming.” I feel like weeds did that in a comical sense and lots of other shows keep repeating it. And I think I’m now kind of irritated by Justin Bateman who I used to like.

That new show with wendall piece is unwatchable. I thought it would be like Monk or Psych, but the resolutions are all wildly unsatisfying. With a good detective show, you realize there were subtle clues you missed, like someone being left handed or whatever. But that show it’s just some made up BS like she could just tell the person was lying. And her character is irritating. So much as I love wendall, I can’t watch it.

Big Bang Theory

I actually think most people hate Big Bang Theory.

I hated it but I liked Young Sheldon. Go figure.

Because you hated it? The show ran for 12 seasons and was No. 1 in its 11th season. It launched Young Sheldon and a sequel. There is also another spinoff in the works.

Big bang theory is just a really well done classic sitcom. It’s not creative or Shakespeare or anything but it has lovable quirky personalities, some character growth/arc over the seasons, a straight man playing to “characters,” and good quippy dialogue. That’s the formula. Also the Bob Newhart ongoing cameo was one of the funniest things I’ve seen on TV. He was so, so funny in that role. There were some other really good cameos as well.

I have to find European shows to watch.

This was not really an answer to the question.

Basically every show you are listing. Mind numbing.
The only one I like is northern exposure. Now that’s a good American show!

Friends was the big suck of the 90s. And people can't stop talking about it.

Back then I also hated Ally McBeal, but maybe it would be better upon rewatch. A few things, like the all gender bathrooms, turned out to be prescient. We have all gender bathrooms at my office now.

Oh, and Parenthood.

Stranger Things. It was cool for a season, but did not feel compelled to continue beyond that.

The Good Place. I've tried to watch it twice and I just can't get into it.

The Good Place. Found it boring and weird (an odd combination, but there you have it).

Uh, no, because it's basically a meme at this point that Big Bang Theory sucks. I am not the only one who didn't enjoy it.

I just said I liked Young Sheldon, not sure why you're acting like I'm just being a dick for no reason.

Also there's a third spinoff? What is this one going to be about? There's already Young Sheldon and Georgie & Mandy.
