| Because most people would have posted something like that MAYBE one time with little to no expectation but by the third time you posted they found it weird and probably creepy so wanted to shut it down. Yeah, yeah, yeah they "invite it" but it still comes across as unbalanced and is probably not the first time they've had to deal with nuts. |

OP your first comment was an action request, and they took action. Your second comment was fishing for condolences. This is not appropriate to do in the comments section of a YouTube video.
You should have private messaged them. The format of your message should have been a follow-up thank you note. As in, "my sister, whom you sent encouragement to last year at my request, has now died of her cancer. Your message lifted her spirits when she was very sick. Thank you again for your kindness." You should not have expected a reply from them, and you should not have followed up. |
| Thanks to scammers, anyone posting on the internet about cancer is not believed. It is assumed to be a scheme to get sympathy money or website traffic. |

I have a fairly large social media following and I get comments like this, about someone with cancer or another illness.
I try to respond as much as I can, but I get thousands of comments a day. I can’t even read every single one, let alone respond. You also have to understand we get a LOT of spam and troll comments. I had someone create about 80 different accounts to comment the same thing on a video. I’ve held Lives where someone will type the same troll BS in the chat hundreds of times, until they’re kicked out. Many of them have a similar writing style to yours, where I can tell they aren’t 100% fluent in English or possibly a bot. So often if there’s any hint that it’s spam or a scam or a troll, it’s easier to just block them. I don’t want to wake up to someone posting the same thing on every single one of my videos. I have to block several people every day. What did you actually write? What was the comment? |
NP. No, you were being weird. It freaked them out that you were commenting on ... was it THREE different videos that had NOTHING to do with death or family relationships. You were weird. It was not unkind of them. |
| Why do you think they owe you anything? |
Both of these people are actually not major youtubers or major influencers. And youtube is not their main job. They have other jobs that they do, and youtube is mainly a hobby for them. They run smaller channels with not that many subscribers. They only get a few dozen comments per video. And also, they often reply to comments. Does this change your guys' opinions on this topic? |
I am 100% fluent in English. It's my first language. What made you think otherwise? |
No. If anything the limited following and comments makes your off topic and somewhat morose comments to them even more inappropriate. |
| I have never posted this before on DCUM and it is wildly overused here but...are you on the spectrum? It's sort of baffling to me that you can't understand where you overstepped here and why people who may very well be nice would react the way they did. It's just a profound misreading of your relationship to these strangers. |
