Does anyone have any idea why these youtubers did this?

I like to watch videos made by two particular youtubers. Both of them seem like very nice people. A few years ago, I left each of them a message in the comments section under their most recent videos. In this message, I told them that my sister also likes watching their videos. But recently, my sister has been diagnosed with cancer. And I asked them if they could leave a message of encouragement for my sister. And since they are so nice and kind, I expected them to do so. And they did just that when they replied to my comments with kindhearted messages for my sister.

But about one year later, I left each of them another comment. I told them that my sister had died. And both of them didn't respond. When they each posted their next video, I said the same thing. And no response. And one video later, I tried to do the same thing. But this time, I noticed that both had blocked me from commenting on their channels. First of all, what would cause them to behave like this?

And secondly, does this indicate that they might not be as nice as they seem?

Because it seemed like you were trying to be a mooch or get something from them, even if that wasnt your intention. I'm sorry about your sister. Please realize how many requests influencers and celebs get like this. There's not time to respond to everyone.

What did you want them to respond with? They are not your friends. I’m truly sorry for the death of your sister, but seeking condolences from strangers may not be an effective strategy for dealing with your grief. It was kind of them to reply the first time. For you, I recommend you move on from this. Do you have trusted family or friends to rely on?

1. You're bringing the vibe down.
2. You don't know them. They don't know you, let alone your sister.
3. Operative word here is "seem." They "seem" very nice and kind. Because that's the personality they're pushing out on their channel. Doesn't mean they're that way all the time, or when it counts.
4. Stop trying to get interaction from people who don't know you. If you need therapy to deal with the loss of your sister, get that. But getting a quick "sorry for your loss!" from a Youtuber's assistant, will actually feel hollow.

I am sort of surprised they didn't just reply "I'm sorry" but maybe they thought you were a scammer and the repeated messages were spam. It's also possible their accounts have grown and now they have someone managing comments who doesn't really care to be nice.

I find it oddly bizarre that you seek this sort of validation from a stranger whose goal is to make money.

It indicates that you have serious boundary issues. And indicates little about the "Youtubers," aside from 1) they were kind to begin with when you first posted messages about your sister and, 2) they are maintaining good boundaries now. You are being creepy posting about the death on their channels, OP. That is not the place to get support for grief, and your inclination to decide they are not "as nice as they seem" for not giving that support is a very immature way to look at it.

These are not real relationships.

how popular are they? often time its not really them posting is a pr team. you could call them out somehow and the real youtuber might come back around. i think a dm would be more appropriate

1. I wonder if this is a troll post.

2. If not, I'm sorry about your sister. But you're very, very stupid, OP. People maintain channels to earn money while sharing their passions. They are NOT your friends. It's a job for them. Feel-good stories about Mr. Beast or other influencers visiting cancer patients or doing other good deeds are meant to go viral to monetize their channels even further. None of these people are being nice out of the goodness of their hearts! Your family was just not important enough to be featured in their public life.

I am very sorry about losing your beloved sister - - my sincere condolences 💐….

I find it odd as well as distasteful that you were blocked, are you sure that they did this??
If they truly did this >> it makes zero sense to me.
Did the no.# of their followers jump into the thousands??

Because most influencers get paid more for the no.# of followers/views their channel receives.

Me again. To be extremely clear: if you donate to their channels, you're being scammed. If you're a big donor, the influencer will communicate with you directly. If you're a moderate donor, and the influencer has a team, someone on the team might get back to you. But you will be ignored if you're a random viewer or a small donor.

I don’t most YouTubers get money from people that watch their videos but they get it from advertisers after they get a certain amount of followers
