In the ads, there’s a clip where someone texts her: “your one looks like a cute garden gnome” and then another clip has a similar text talking about her “one”.

Is “one” a euphemism? Is this only fans lingo or something?

Are you sure it's not her referring to men's d*cks? That's how she starts off in OnlyFans before she adds other things.

Ohhh... SHE is the one writing the texts? She's telling the men their "member" (one) looks like a shy carrot or a cute garden gnome?

And then they pay her for that? (I could do that... )

I thought the book was a fun read, but funny while I was reading it I pictured Jason Momoa as her Dad. A shaggy paunchy JM. Was I totally off base?

I haven't watched the show yet.

I actually think Offerman is perfect for this role. I totally believe him as a washed up drug addict professional wrestler, and he really is so good at getting you on his side and building empathy.

Because of him the Michelle Pfeiffer casting makes sense. I mean I think she was cast because isn’t she married to the creator David Kelly? But the aging makes sense. If they got some 40 year-old to play Margo‘s mom that would be gross because Nick definitely looks his age and if he had knocked up some 20-year-old at 35 I don’t think the show would’ve worked. I think they were both older when they had Margot, but that doesn’t mean they had their life together or that she had any resources to be a single mom so I still believe her as a down on her luck 50 something desperate to marry the creepy religious guy (Greg Kinnear is another great casting choice, I’ve always loved him).

But Jason Mamoa might’ve worked too. They just would’ve needed to get a slightly younger actress.

Agree with PP above. The casting is great for this show. A very likable and believable cast.

So Nick can be 55, but a 15 year age difference (40 year old) is not believable if she's younger, but she can be 12 years older (Michelle is 67)?

I’m so disgusted with the character of Margot’s mom. When she knew Margot was pregnant and would be all alone, why didn’t SHE invite Margot to move in with her? Instead, she gets mad at Margot for not asking. Meanwhile, Margot is clearly struggling and asking for her mom’s help and her mother is having none of it. Sorry, not a fan of the character. I would never leave my daughter high and dry like that.

Hence, she has money troubles.

I feel like Offerman looks 55 but others might disagree. Michelle Pfeiffer is probably one of the most beautiful woman in the world and she has aged really well and it is not at all representative of the general population. I don’t think she looks 67. I think they are trying to make her look like younger but rough.

I think margos parents are supposed to be roughly the same age. Shrug. I don’t know. It doesn’t seem like they have said that these characters were super young when they had Margot. It doesn’t sound like they had their lives together necessarily, but the story doesn’t imply that they were teen parents or even in their 20s. But I don’t know, I haven’t read the book. Maybe someone else can clarify.
Or maybe it will come out that she was in fact, 10 years older than him or something. Like I said, I haven’t read the book. I’m just speculating on what I think they look like.

Michelle doesn’t really play her age lately. She was just in a dumb Christmas movie where she played the mom of a college student. Unless she had the baby in her late 40s, I think they were trying to make her younger. And I think they’re trying to do that here too.

MP looked so much better in her recent Christmas movie. I can't tell what they've done to her for this series, but she looks very harsh, hollowed out, and just not good. The extra large veneers are awful. I'm hoping this is all just for the role and not something she's done to herself.

Pretty sure it’s for the character. She’s supposed to have had a rough life and not have any wealth. They definitely scaled down her looks.

Last night's episode was good! I love Nick Offerman in this role.

As the daughter of an unwed mother, I hate the story line.

I made sure not to make the same mistakes as her. NO EXCUSES!

Babies are not playthings.

What’s the mistake?

Should be "Received $20 from OnlyFans."

I find it entirely believable that there are misspellings in emails from OF. I see misspellings or typos in emails from companies all the time. "Sneak peak" being the most prevalent.

Lol. She's found a way to commodify her writing talent!
