I took a sick day

I used one once and my supervisor treated me like I stole from him.

Op, you earned and accrued the sick leave, don't overthink it. Taking care of yourself is very important.

You are quite fortunate. My colleagues have to cover my classes. And our sub plans have to be current, related to the unit we are teaching.

So when I take leave, I have to wake up early in the morning and create relevant plans for the day. I then have to post them for my coworkers so they can deliver the content for me instead of getting their planning periods.

I do now since I've found out that I will only reimbursed by 1/4 of my unused days.

I take all the leave that I am allowed to take. Sick, PTO etc. I regularly schedule mental health days and also take off time when long weekends come. I also take leave without pay if I need to. The days when I am allowed to WFH (one lousy day a week), I also take time out for lunch etc and I meticulously log my work.

I don't lag behind in my work and I work super fast and efficiently, but I never turn in work early ever. I document the hell out of everything that I do with my work. I am a paper-trail maker. I am usually done with my work within an hour or two of it being assigned but I submit it on the last day.

What do I do at work? Usually attend meetings, do my online shopping and organizing, use AI to write my status reports and documentation to CYA and create a bragsheet, take online courses to build up skills and pad my resume, job searches, do all kinds of opportunity scouting for my family and friends, and I am forever looking for alternate income streams.

I am not a "quite quitter". I am a "looking out for myselfer".

So what did you do before AI? Actually do work? This is such a J 1/2/3 guy post.
