You’re just mixing up two events and acting as if they’re one to deny antiblack racism. It’s weird to do so, but usual for a racist. |
Damn it, you’re interrupting the hard work of bolstering systemic racism and gaslighting POC with inconvenient facts. Next you will be pointing out that PPs are cherry-picking an outlier from a list that includes overt racist speech. How gauche. |

That’s very true. So many people experience racism - black Americans, Indians! Asians. Latinos. Etc. - all the tropes and jokes and “you smell” comments. I hear anti Indian and anti black comments all the time because I am not Indian or black and so people think it’s safe to say these things to me. And yet Jewish Americans - white as day, and let’s admit it- usually well educated, affluent, and able to successfully navigate tough social, academic and professional hierarchies, are acting like THEY are the biggest victims. It’s completely tone deaf. To be sure, anti semitism is rising. It’s almost exclusively on the far right. Yet Jewish maga is trying to pin it on the left, missing entirely the real story. I’ll get off my soap box. The issue is complex and nuanced. |
Hmm. Racism is in the eye of the beholder. And some of the most racist attitudes are from blacks towards other racial groups. The anti Asian violence are almost entirely from blacks. And it's the liberal college campuses that had the antisemitism crisis, mainly from "brown" people. Nothing comparable on the MAGA side as they dont have college campuses. Such is the ironies of modern life. |
Misbehavior by athletic teams at the 5Cs (here it was Pomona-Pitzer team, earlier it was the CMC-Mudd swim/diving team) is a scourge. There really is a behavior and academic divide between the academic students at 5Cs and the athletic recruits. |
Yes, your soapbox is tiresome, not to mention completely ridiculous. Especially the bolded. The biggest (by far) propagation of antisemitism today comes from the far-LEFT. |

| It’s just a sign that actual discrimination has disappeared, & the victimhood claims are running out of steam. |
| Let me get this straight: an openly race-centric, racial bias-promoting group is complaining that somebody else is racist? |
|
While Pomona has a reputation for being open and inclusive, the faculty are overwhelmingly white while half of the student body are still white and Asian. So institutional racism is something that is acknowledged but they are aware of it and have plans to overcome it. Don't make it out to be a non-existent problem.
At the same time the way that school handled the Palestinian issue has left a lot of bad feelings. It seems some groups got special protections while others were singled out and punished so if you are a Black student it is not unfair to make sure that you aren't being singled out to the benefit of the privileged heteronormative cisgendered non-POC cohort. |
Are you one of those people that believe talking about race at all is racism? It’s a great cop out to continue being racist but not allow anyone else to discuss it. The black student union is just an organization of people who are black hanging out. If that’s racism, then it’s lost its meaning in your mind |
