Do not do this. Go where your money will go the farthest. My great aunt lived in NY her entire life and at the ripe age of 93 even with a pension and savings was going broke due to healthcare and health aid costs. She was literally month away from having to be placed in a state funded care facility but fortunately died in her sleep.

Comments like these are so odd. It's as if some of you live in a completely binary world in which you see CT as all Democrat, CA as all Democrat...There are GOP and Democrats everywhere in all states, all across the political spectrum within the two parties, and plenty outside of these as well.

Aww this makes me sad. My suburb of St. Louis is 96% blue and it is such an easy place to live. Pretty, good healthcare options, affordable, and easy to get to anywhere I might want to be when I travel. There are definitely places in MO where I have lived and would not want to live again, but STL and KC have good things to offer.
