Any thoughts on asking your friend? |
If the men are married to each other, and they used one woman's egg and the other is the surrogate, then they'd all have legal or biological ties to the child. Now who is on the birth certificate, and who claims the child on their taxes, and who gets to make decisions when they disagree on stuff, are all separate and complicated questions. Which are not OP's business, but I can understand why she's interested. Luckily she can observe over time or ask her friend! |
NP. It is YOUR JOB to answer OP’s question, PP. You failed to do your job. |
| That poor child |
+100. My bet is the non-carrier woman will be the first one to snap out of it and escape the Manson family. |
NP. Agreed. |
| The chance that these four will still be in this arrangement as the child hits preschool is low, this is likely to bring a host of adults in and out of the kid's life. But all sorts of unstable arrangements produce kids and it's not the kid's fault. Nothing you can do about this one. |
| I really hate the whole "welcoming a baby" language. Can't you just say they are expecting a baby or had a baby? I blame celebrity media--they always use this stupid phrase. Also "sharing a child" with their spouse. |
