Backorder on estrogen — over a month!

This is why I'm glad to skip HRT and not deal with any of these issues.

Well, if I weren’t dealing with this issue, I would be absolutely miserable from hot flashes and not being able to sleep at all.

Same! I’ve been up since 4 am, largely because I had night sweats starting. I haven’t had those since I started HRT, but my oats h ran out because my pharnacy hasn’t been able to fill my rx for over a month….

Guess that happens when people get medical advice from TikTok!

Now the weekly one is backordered too. And like others, I end up having to call pharmacies and shop around every month to find my preferred brand - I was switched to another brand last year and had bad results.

Interesting- do you "feel" it's run out? I'm on the twice weekly patch and I feel like it runs out too at random times but I thought it was all in my head!

I definitely feel it runs out. My anxiety starts to spike and other symptoms start to come back (hot flashes).

I feel crampy like I've moved on to the placebo pills in a pillpack. How do you balance out the additional estrogen if you do replace it quickly or up the dosage? Does the doctor need to prescribe more progesterone to balance- or is that pretty stable and you just need "some" progesterone vs. all estrogen?

PP here - I haven't done anything to deal with the 'running out' feeling. Honestly, the constant shortages of the patches is my bigger worry so I just accept this is the way it is going to be. I did much better on the two/times per week patch but that's been impossible for me to find in the dose and brand that I need to take, so now I am on the once/week patch (which has also become hard to find, sadly) For a while, the day I was changing my patch meant that my weekends sucked bc of the dosage running out and symptoms returning. I wanted my weekends with my kids to be more pleasant, so I shifted it so that my worst days of the week are now Tues./Wed, which psychologically is easier for me. Who knows. This is so infuriating.

Ugh. I only have one patch left and just saw this post. I'm going to contact Costco right now about the refill.

Thanks for the thoughtful answer! I wonder if there are other strengths and we just get those and cut down our own sizes. Or get liquid estrogen and start making our own concentrations. Only half joking!
