Backorder on estrogen — over a month!

I’ve been a month without my HRT because Giant hasn’t been able to fill my prescription. I know there are some shortages but is anyone else seeing delays like this or is my pharmacy just incompetent?

Why didn't you take your prescription and shop around?

Same. Giant couldn't get it, so I had to get it from CostPlus, and then go through the insurance reimbursement process since the vendor didn't take it.

And then the next month, my progesterone was out of stock for a week+.

My independent pharmacist is only filling 1 month at a time. They told me they can’t get enough in to meet the demand. This is the first it’s happened in the entire time I’ve been on HRT so there is definitely a supply issie

I just started on hrt 2 days ago and I order mine hers and got a 3 month supply.

I've been dealing with this for months - I find one pharmacy that can give a month and then the next month, nothing. I spend a ton of time calling around to different pharmacies - when I find one that has my preferred brand/dose, I have to quickly get my doctor to send a new prescription. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. It's super inefficient and very frustrating.

I couldn't get my Estradiol at CVS and transferred it to Costco, which had it.

My doc writes my prescription for any of the many generic versions. Also it tends to be the starter /lower doses that they gave the hardest times stocking. Your doc may be able to give you BCP samples or estrogen gel or another alternative. Have you called your doc office?

Not quite on topic but I get sent whichever patches they are stocking for my mail-concierge place and I swear you guys are right. The same dosage and different brands just 'feel' different. I do much better on Dotti for example. Another brand I had cramps and night sweats- as though the patch wasn't really working. But it's the same.exact.thing. ??

Mine said backordered, but I popped by the pharmacy and they gave me one month. My dr had sent in 90 days, but the pharmacist said I could have one month due to the shortage. Not sure why they couldn't have just said that vs backordered.

CVS has them in Arlington. But three months ago they didn’t, so I went to Wegmans.

I know it is so annoying. Mine was filled today. I've been without my patches for a week. I'm switching to my mail order pharmacy. I'm hoping that will be better.
