I associate the name Mackenzie with the river in Oregon. Are you into fly fishing?
Just pick the name you like best. |
| I was born in the 60's but my parents gave me a name that was popular in the 50's and it always made me feel like a weird nerd loser. Cassidy and MacKenzie are both already old and outdated. Don't do that to your kid. she'll be the 2020 kid with a 2010 or 2000's name. |
Because being the 4th Emma in your friend group sucks. |
JK. I was referencing the thread on the mom who was upset that her brother and SIL were using her special name. Keturah. |
is your name Carol, Barbara, Linda, Susan or Irene? |
| I’ll give you a hint. It’s one of those “double barreled” names. |
I am only care if it's a top 10 name, or if I personally know several kids with that name. Both true for Emma, so that one is out for me. Beyond that, I don't care. I just don't want a name where my kid will be one if several everywhere she goes. |

Emma - feels like a nickname
Claire - ok, I am partial to French names Alice - considered myself, if I have another daughter she would probably get this name Mackenzie - really dislike, also very dated Cassidy - too kiddish |
They are middle names to balance out a longer first name IMO Alice is an old woman to our generation, for up and coming generations it probably won't have that association |
Same, Claire is my favorite. |
+1 Also, while Emma is popular name, my (3) kids have never had an Emma in their classes. Some names, like Sophia or Eleanor/Ellie , are more common to hear than Emma, but just not listed as highly in the charts because there are so many alternate spellings. |
I don't know the reference, but that sounds like a drug name. For eczema or something. |
MaryAnn? Linda Sue? Peggy Lee? |
|
I'm also struggling with the split in styles here. Cassidy and Mackenzie could actually work as middle names.
Alice Mackenzie Emma Cassidy Kind of cute??? In my head, they're family names, and nice in the middle name slot. |
