Are we abandoning Israel?

It's still a mystery to you? Why wouldn't our corrupt politicians exchange hundreds of billions of tax payer dollars for hundreds of millions of campaign finance dollars? Do you have any clue how corrupt our political system has become? This Israel relationship is just one example of our politicians selling out average Americans to please the interests of their wealthy donors. There are many others that aren't as glowingly obvious to the regular people.

Before casting another vote for a national politician, go to https://www.opensecrets.org/ and search to find out if the politicians on the ballot have accepted any funds funneled through political action committees or other lobbying groups. I will never vote for another politician who has received more 1k from a single person, source, or entity. If you really care and want to make a difference, join me.

Preach, brother. I'm the OP. I agree. We should only be voting / campaigning for politicans that voluntarily reject Citizen's United and only fund themselves through small donors.

We should reject every foreign nation involvement in our government but no more so than one that's a genocidal leach that takes from American taxpayers.

Retreating from this war does not constitute and abandonment of Israel. They will still have weapons deals with the West, and they will still occupy Lebanon. Sadly.

However, the image of Israel as the victim in the Middle East is shattered for this generation.

lol the EU only goes along with the US on Israel. No NATO and 25% tariffs will allow the EU to go their own way. They will put sanctions on Israel.

PP you replied to. I don't think so. I am French, and we deal with the legacy of WWII and the Holocaust in a way Americans cannot understand. I don't think the EU will abandon Israel anytime soon.

You are wrong. The genocide and taking of land by Israel is a clear threat to the EU. 100’s of thousands of refugees and immigrants seek the EU because of Israel’s actions. Israel is a pariah state.

Also WTF? Israel is committing genocide, ethic cleansing and constantly creating failed states through out the regime. Of the 20 million people murdered in death camps and by death squads in Europe 6 million were Jewish. What about the other 14 million? What has France does for those survivors?

No one owes Israelis anything. During WW2 the allied powers killed 1/4-1/2 the population of Iran. The EU is living with that legacy very well.

Israel is a rogue nation. Unfortunately, the highest levels of our government are completely captured by them, largely monetarily (bribes, campaign finance), but also due to religious affiliation (either the evangelical eschatologist nuts, or orthodox Zionists directly embedded in our government). Imo, you are welcome to be a Zionist, but it's a conflict of interest if you're running for office in the US, and these people with two allegiances are straight up traitors. I'm thinking of the pathetic Lindsay Graham here.

Thank you. This methodology will make it much more difficult for us to find people to support in the short term but it's the only way I can think of for us regular people to force much needed political reform so we can take back control of government from the ultra-wealthy. If anyone has other ideas on how to accomplish this, I'm all ears!!

Germany won't. Too much guilt there.

Single issue progressive voters are a gift to the Republican Party. All those progressives who wouldn’t vote for Harris are exactly why Trump is president today. Netanyahu loves voters like you.

We have AOC and maybe a few others to vote for as of now. It will take several election cycles before we'll see the GOP or Dem Parties nominate a POTUS candidate who isn't corrupted by super PAC dollars.

If only! I don’t want my tax dollars going to Israel’s gratuitous slaughter of children.

Use https://www.opensecrets.org/ wisely and stop supporting corrupt politicians if you wish for your tax dollars not to go towards slaughtering children.

They don't have a choice. EU decides for all member nations.
