Have you student wait until they get home to check their portals. This last bunch is really hard, only a very few students will have good news and invariably they will be students who already have strong options. For the vast majority of the other super strong applicants it will be the end of the last glimmer of hope.
The outcomes are diametric and polar opposites in terms of emotions- it is better if they don't do this at school with their peers.

I thought they come out at 7pm?

I don't think they have announced a specific time of day, as I recall it was earlier than the dinner hour . . .

7pm ET tomorrow

Your kid should have received an email.

Do they actually all release at the exact same time?

They spent a lot of time on the Ivy RD apps and wonder what their decisions would have been. Any advice? I don’t want them feeling dissatisfied with their current school commitment.

Wrong thread. Hope your DC is better at reading the room.

In fact, my kid is liking JHU more and more over the past week. So, we won't be terribly disappointed if she gets shutout tomorrow.

What a great place to be in!
Good luck and please report back if you come back to this thread.
Very curious how JHU RD admits do with Ivies.

DD was admitted to JHU last year. Was rejected by 1 Ivy and waitlisted by 2. Then got off the waitlist at one of those 2 Ivies.

Where is she going? JHU or Ivy? Which Ivy was she waitlisted?

Dreading it. I didn’t care so much until like yesterday. WLs are awful. My oldest is at an Ivy (surprise RD unhooked) and it’s been wonderful. The contrast from my public in-state experience is big.

Things have been harder this year, more apps everywhere, so that makes me nervous.

My older kid went through this too. Admitted ED1 to top choice but still wondered about that Ivy where they were a legacy.

It will pass. Have your kid go to admitted student weekend. Once mine did that, they got excited and didn't look back. Also all their friends had their Ivy hopes dashed on Ivy day so that helped a lot too.

Get your kid to focus on their school.

This day, if any, is a day to day drink.

Dreading this day. My son already got into good school but he wants to attend one of the ivies. Know for sure he will be rejected. His disappointment is heartbreaking for us.

"Heartbreaking?" Really? Get a grip lady.

Expect the worst and be pleasantly surprised if anything happens. And good luck!

What was your kids stats?

Oh my God, really? THAT'S your response?
