But there are many small measures that collectively make this world a better place for me.

There it is – – the wrongest post I’ve read all day

What an intelligent and compelling rebuttal of the previous post.

Organized religion takes advantage of the community factor, by providing people something similar to a social club.

If you are a believer, this is your fault, whether you agree or not. Without the religious right there would be no power for the extreme right.

Time to put your stupid bronze-age myths aside and live like an evolved human.

You can do it.

+10 billion. Christopher Hitchens was right: Religion Poisons Everything. He also talked about how 'Moderate" christians give cover and legitimacy to the extremists. HE is all right about that. It is beyond time for us to not only stop with this religious tribalism and the beliefs themselves, as they are, as we speak, distracting us all from evolving as actual human beings that can make the world better. Religion has never done that. I wonder why???

Christopher Hitchens was a sexist jerk who had it out for Hillary Clinton and then we ended up with Drumpf. He helped the extremists win.

And it's not the first time this comment has been made. It was also the answer to a non-religious poster. Did you feel it was intelligent and compelling then?

Did you just admit your feelings got butthurt so you essentially retorted with “I know you are but what am I”?

My recommendation: Feel free to do it, but don’t admit it. You look really silly now.

No, it's a fact. You must be a sexist jerk, too.

In my opinion, definitely.

The sovereignty of God is what gives me hope.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Just because someone wrote it down 2000 years ago, doesn't mean it's true.

NP. Yes, in the other poster’s opinion. You…*do*…get that’s what a discussion forum is for; sharing opinions? If you wanted hard data, you’d go read scientific journals.

The actions of people cannot shake my faith in God. I believe God is all powerful and all knowing. Bad things happen in every generation and this is our test to rise up against the evil in this world. When I see people hurting, it doesn’t make me mad at God, it makes me want to follow His advice and be a better person. I believe that Satan confuses people and erodes their faith. It’s easy to accept God in good times, but true faith will accept God in difficult times as well. God gave us free will to choose our actions.

You have just stated that you can't be persuaded by evidence.

This is a virtue?
