Thanks for sharing. How did you compute the midyear GPA? Did you just weigh each credit by half? Thanks. |
| Waitlisted....34 ACT. 3.75UW |
| DS got in as OOS. |
From mid year transcript in senior year |
Congratulations! Would you mind sharing her stats? |
Waitlisted is so hard, atleast UvA moves from May 1st week unlike Vtech which is in July! |

I posted this in the other thread too.
My kid applied because of no supplementals. His counselor recommended he apply RD to show another semester of grades (he had a rough second semester freshman year ending with a C in History and B- in Latin) but has had straight As since. He only took two years of Latin in HS. 3.85 uw (private), 7 APs, 1550 SAT. NMSF. In state. Applied to SEAS and was accepted. We are very surprised. |
The NMSF helps. Congratulations!! |
Now that you acted all weird by the mention of Yale, I guess I'll have to go back to it. |
Great! My kid has a very similar profile. He had applied EA but then he ended up pulling the app when ED1 admit came through. We assumed UVA was probably a no go because of not perfect GPA and only 2 yrs lang. Maybe we would have been pleasantly surprised after all. |
That seems expected given the GPA. What's the admit GPA line in Naviance for the school? |
Yes, even at our "Big3" which has deflated GPAs (class average of about a 3.5) the UVA line is a very high 3.8. As such, all admits outside of ED kids have also been admitted to Ivies in recent years. |
Isn’t the Naviance gpa at the end of 12th grade? So 11th grade GPAs at application time would be a little lower? |
Nevermind, you said unweighted. We only see weighted for our school. |
You brought it onto yourself. If you didn't act like you were better than everyone else, others' perception of you might have been different. |
