+2 I can barely tolerate bras. I wear a lot of camisoles and tank tops that are double-lined, stretchy and snug enough to give some support. Some have a shelf bra. If I wear something that requires a bra, I usually just wear a stretchy bralette. Not that this helps OP in any way. I just wanted to commiserate with PPs.

| I’m a 34 B and like third love (no store in Tyson’s anymore though) and skims. Agree that A and B are surprisingly hard to find in department stores. You go to Nordstrom and it’s like all C, D+. It’s funny because when I went to nice lingerie stores in France this was not the case. Why do they think only large breasted women wear bras here, I don’t know! |
Because the average US woman is a size 16-18. She isn’t wearing a B cup |
| my nipples reacted to a synthetic bra and developed a non-cancerous skin condition that I am treating--not exczema, more like a hyperplasia. Anyway, I only buy natural now and would encourage everyone to do the same- silk, cotton etc. More pricey and they don't always have size range but protect your breasts ladies. MATE, Fleur du Mal, Araks, the exczema store all have options. I use reprise and mate for sports bras as well. Wish alo did fewer synthetics. I'm trying to move away entirely. |

I too used the A Bra That Fits calculator and then ordered from Bare Necessities. My favorite brands are Freya and Marie Jo.
The most comfortable bra I own is a sports bra from Aerie. I highly, highly recommend it for anyone who is bra-averse. Support and lift without constriction https://www.ae.com/us/en/p/aerie/bras/sports-bras/offline-by-aerie-real-me-hold-up-racerback-sports-bra/3692_1354_101 |
There was that book selling sexy (or something like that) that came out recently. It said decades ago the average bra size in US was 34B but now due to weight gain and breast augmentation, it’s much bigger now. |
| But there's also more awareness of correct sizing. I remember getting measured at Victoria's secret in the 2000s and them putting me into a 32B even though my breast was popping out and I needed a smaller band size, but they didn't carry the size I actually needed. 34B is just kind of a strange size: I'm not saying no one fits it into it, but I think a lot more people thought they did than actually did just because people thought "D" meant huge and major stores didn't carry smaller bands. |
34B is a strange size? What an odd comment. |
| A vast majority of women are wearing the band size too large and the cups too small. |
Not if you read the rest of the comment! |
| The people at Belle Mode are much nicer than Trousseau. I live in Vienna and go to Belle Mode instead of Trousseau. I have not visited their new location yet. They used to be at Fairfax Corner, but have moved to Fairfax City. |
The comment is that people wear the wrong size bra. It’s not weird that is an average size or most commonly size. |
Trousseau is great, but they don't carry Wacoal. If you want Wacoal I would try Nordstrom in Tysons. |
Based on a survey where women self reported their sizes from 1992, when no one was wearing the right bra size. It's not like anyone was measuring. |
What? People measured in 1992. I’m old enough to remember 1992 wells Today the results would still be self reported. |
