They add citric acid to their yogurt!!! I thought I had a bleeding ulcer!!! Never again.

I will buy produce, bread, cereal, pasta, canned foods and cheese from them but not much else. No meat, no dairy, no eggs no frozen foods. I've bought bad mayo from there.

Weird. I love that store!

I love European Lidl. In the states it’s a hit or miss. Their pasta and canned goods and eggs are fine. Produce really varies by store - just like any other store really. I buy meat at Costco.

Most have no ill effects from this.

Do you enjoy additives and chemicals in all your foods to make them shelf stable though? Or just Lidl bakery items?

The 3-4 different bakery items that I bought there in the was interchangeable with sweet roll you’d get from a vending machine or at a gas station in a crinkly plastic package. Complete with the chemical aftertaste and artificial blueberry air freshener scent

DP. I trust their meat just fine, but Lidl's meat prices are more expensive than Safeway or Giant.

However, I see people buy meat at McLean Lidl all the time. I suppose it might be cheaper than Balducci's or Wegman's.

The only thing worth going to Safeway for is the meat. They have a good selection and it's relatively cheap (cheaper than Whole Foods). Way better than Giant.

The Lidl Bakery in McLean is on site. They bake those items in the store.
