Ummm…no. Dogs in parks must be on leashes unless they are in a secured, fenced designated dog area. Im a dog owner, and I would NEVER allow my very well behaved dog off leash. You never know, and you need to be in control when in public.

I usually yell at dogs before they can jump at me. Or use my leg / foot to block that dog away from me in a non hurtful way to the dog.

But I am … like a dog whisperer. That’s what my mom said since I was a kid. Just know how to read and handle them. Usually when dog happily jump at you it’s not a threat. They just excited. But someone like my mom, or perhaps you would be terrified.

I agree with other people that owner should leash their dog in public. The country where I came from, have a lot of stray dogs and even owned dog just roaming around . So I got used to deal with them ( I do enjoy them actually, dog lover) but I get it that it’s not safe.
