"High Risk Universities"

Those people who are influenced by all of this crazy propaganda, believe every word out of Trump's mouth, are worked up by every crisis he creates even though it has no impact on their daily lives (and I don't disagree with him on all of them, but I believe he blows them way out of proportion), etc.

And the rest of us who are rational, intelligent human beings who have maintained the ability to think critically, admit that this country is far from perfect and needs to be improved but this is not the way to do it (I think we went overboard with DEI but the obsession with going the opposite way and the overreaction is insane), and are horrified that tens of millions of people worship at the alter of a narcissistic sociopath with a mafia boss complex who is profiting off of all of us.

I really don't understand how anyone can be on the fence about any of this. It is truly scary. When will our national nightmare be over? And if I get one response with "TDS" you are just proving you are brainwashed.

I'm tired of dealing with the stupidity & insanity. Just go off and build your own Gilead in the South.

Hopefully they all end up in these migrant detention centers they are obsessed with building. Turn up the heat and make them all wear ICE masks 24/7. And project images of transsexuals on the wall 24/7.

This list has no rhyme or reason. Pepperdine????? Get serious.

Republicans don't want service members to have lives. They want service members to be desperate and dependent on the military until they die.

A preliminary list of at-risk schools compiled by the Army for troops enrolling in law school and reviewed by CNN characterizes the following schools as being at “moderate to high risk” of being banned:
American University, Boston College, Boston University, Brown University, Carnegie Mellon, Case Western University, Columbia University, College of William and Mary, Cornell University, Duke, Emory, Florida Institute of Technology, Fordham, Georgetown, George Washington University, Harvard, Hawaii Pacific University, Johns Hopkins University, the London School of Economics and Political Science, MIT, Northeastern University, Northwestern University, New York University, Pepperdine, Princeton, Stanford, Tufts, University of Miami, University of Pennsylvania, University of Southern California, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, Washington University in St Louis, and Yale.

It’s very simple. If people here read actual newspaper articles they would understand. Note the word “may”. This is all about putting pressure on Harvard to settle the now $1B action against it. The Trump Administration sued Harvard because it has not yet disclosed its admissions records. Eight hours ago. This “may” threat is simple political maneuvering as we’ve seen Trump do with tariffs. He uses tariffs to get countries to take action. Then the tariffs are reduced or go away. Here, Hegseth issues a “may” threat just after Trump sues Harvard.

I’m a Harvard grad who thinks (along with some law professors at HLS) that the President of Harvard really botched this by repeatedly using the NYTimes to foolishly tweak the administration. Initially, Harvard could have settled below the $300 million that Columbia paid but it leaked settlement negotiations to the NYTimes and that pissed of the Administration. Then, the settlement amount jumped to $500 million. Two weeks ago, Harvard again tweaked the admin through the NYTimes, claiming Harvard had won the negotiations and that Trump was walking away. Trump immediately blasts back now demanding $1B. Harvard, in its arrogance, has just played this all wrong.

The alumni letters in the alumni magazine are divided on this.

Harvard is forever. Trump will be dead soon.

This is such a shitty thing to do to current military students who attend these schools or who have applied and are about to attend.

Harvard alum here. No quarter! Centrist voter but vehemently anti-Trump and the MAGA grift. Do NOT want Harvard to settle w/ govt. or Trump. No Harvard alumni I know (even the HLS Federalist alumni I know) wants Garber to settle.

RE military programs...yes, Trump & Hegseth & co. just want to dumb down and/or drive out the military. One of my BFFs is married to a military officer who got a degree from one of H's grad/prof schools (being vague purposefully). These programs are not only about education/leadership, they in effect serve to RETAIN officers (free degree for x number of continued years of service). I suspect this is also a ploy to drive out early-mid-career officers who are more likely to be more politically moderate (not that it should or does matter AT ALL in the military but it seems to do so in MAGAland) from the military's ranks. They are the ones most likely to pursue and benefit from (and be retained by) these programs. Now they'll head for corporate life and get an MBA covered by Goldman or whatever.

Kinda like the democrats and the welfare state. The military provides a critical service. What does your voting block provide?

Blue states subsidize red states.

This is just Harvard and the administration playing stupid games. The egos involved are ridiculous. And both Harvard and Trump are willing to throw everyone else under the bus. So far, this "high risk universities" nonsense remains just a threat. Nothing has changed for military officers at this moment in time. But don't think for a minute that Harvard is some bastion of noble principals. They just happen to be rich and prominent enough to match Trump in their destructive awfulness.

A President has no business doing what Trump is doing. He started this

MIT is on their high risk list? I guess the military doesn't want smart engineers.

And UC Berkeley isn't, but USC is? How times have changed.

Such an embarrassment. And so bad for military members who want a good education.
